Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to support the secure configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization of CLIENT s cybersecurity compliance databases. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of data used in cybersecurity programs such as FISMA reporting, POA&M tracking, inventory management, and compliance automation. The DBA will collaborate with technical and functional teams to maintain system performance, support upgrades, and facilitate integration with compliance tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and optimize the FISMA Inventory Database, including configuration, patching, backups, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Support the integration of backend databases with compliance platforms such as ServiceNow, CSAM, or CLIENT s internal tools.
- Ensure data integrity, security controls, and access restrictions are consistently enforced across systems.
- Monitor system health, log database activity, and troubleshoot performance issues to ensure optimal operation of production and lower environments.
- Support database upgrades, patch management, schema modifications, and data migration initiatives as CLIENT transitions to modernized platforms.
- Assist developers by providing database-level support for reporting, dashboard integration, and application performance enhancements.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and compliance teams to validate and deliver accurate data for monthly/quarterly FISMA scorecards and audit reports.
- Maintain database documentation, job schedules, change logs, and restoration procedures in accordance with CLIENT's SOPs.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in database administration supporting enterprise applications.
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Active Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred).
- Strong hands-on experience with one or more of the following: SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Proficient in backup/recovery, indexing, partitioning, replication, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity data systems and working with sensitive or compliance-related information.
- Experience supporting database connections with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Elastic, Splunk, Crystal Reports).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), or Security+.
- Experience working in a federal cybersecurity or audit support environment.
- Familiarity with database support in DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of federal compliance requirements such as FISMA, RMF, and ISCM metrics.
