Job Details
This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.
Power Systems Modeling Design Engineer
This position falls under the Electrical Sub-Systems team based in Everett, WA.
The successful candidate will work with Electrical Power Systems engineering and adjacent groups to establish program, system and sub-system support of Electrical Sub-Systems team in areas of Aircraft Power System Modeling and Simulation. The person will be responsible for assisting team members with modeling and simulation of the aircraft power system, active and passive power conversion equipment, motor controllers, electric motors and generators, power distribution and protection equipment. The person will perform all necessary simulation work to assess system power quality, characterize failure modes of the equipment and the power system, and to design and validate system protections. The person will also be responsible for assisting team members with technical requirements development. He or she will extensively work to develop and document complex electric power system requirements and will validate them through simulation and test. Previous electrical equipment systems design experience required; in-depth knowledge of electric power systems, modeling and simulation tools, model-based design and model-based system engineering techniques and hands-on experience with tools is necessary.
