Job Title: Lead Data Architect / Developer
Work Location: Dallas, TX (ONSITE 5 days a week)
Education/Experience Required: 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data development, or database administration roles; 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, or equivalent.

- We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Lead Data Architect / Developer to support and enhance our current data infrastructure while helping to design and implement a modern, cloud-based data platform.
- This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys both maintaining mission-critical systems and building innovative solutions from the ground up. In the near term, you will play a key role in supporting and optimizing our existing SQL Server 2017 environment, ensuring stability and performance for ongoing business operations.
- Simultaneously, you will contribute to the planning and development of our next-generation data platform in Microsoft Azure, including data architecture, integration, and reporting solutions.
- This position offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of technologies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help shape the future of our data ecosystem while ensuring continuity and reliability of our current systems.
- Must have strong communication skills as you will be working with other departments to achieve your milestones. Ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical person is preferred.
Responsibilities :
- Support and maintain the existing SQL Server 2017 environment, ensuring data availability, performance, and reliability for ongoing business operations.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions in Microsoft Azure, including Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, and related services.
- Develop and optimize data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and integrations between systems using modern tools and best practices.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models to support business intelligence and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, understand data needs, and deliver effective solutions.
- Ensure data quality, security, and governance across both legacy and modern data platforms.
- Document data architecture, processes, and workflows to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data systems and integrations, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of the data platform migration strategy, balancing short-term support with long-term transformation goals.
- Stay current with industry trends and Azure technologies, recommending improvements and innovations where appropriate.
- Understand, debug and troubleshoot SQL, SQL Server databases, Python code and APIs
Skills & Qualifications :
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data development, or database administration roles.
- 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of data modeling
- Strong background in SQL Server, including performance tuning, stored procedures, and database design.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and data models.
- Development experience using Microsoft T-SQL, Power BI, SSRS, SSIS, Python and API technologies
- Hands-on experience with data integration tools and building ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Experience supporting and modernizing legacy data systems while transitioning to cloud-based platforms.
- Exposure to different database management systems, including RDBMS system (e.g. PostgreSQL), NoSQL technologies, and columnar databases, with a willingness to deepen expertise as needed.
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance best practices in cloud environments.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Background in Construction, Single Family, Multi-Family, and/or Commercial Property Management and/or Accounting is a plus
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps) for deploying data pipelines, infrastructure as code, and analytics solutions.
