Senior Network Engineer

Position Summary: Provide network operations & maintenance services and support the Federal Reserve Board s on-going network optimization initiatives. The primary focus of this position is troubleshooting production issues with routing and switching in a large data center environment. This may include the development of new solutions and/or enhancements. This is a HYBRID position, with one day of work on-site in Washington, D.C. per week. Due to government contract requirements, United States Citizenship is required. Duration is for one year with potential for extension.

Responsibilities

• Assist the networking team with daily operations and ongoing projects, including troubleshooting routing and switching issues, developing new designs, managing maintenance windows, and handling any other tasks as required.
• Utilize expertise in BGP and OSPF to address traffic engineering, route optimization, and failover scenarios.
• Document project deliverables such as requirements specifications and new designs.

Required

• Minimum of 10 years experience in supporting enterprise-grade routers and switches in a large data center environment
• Demonstrating expertise in supporting and configuring the following technologies: BGP, OSPF, STP in NXOS and IOSXE platforms
• Experience designing, planning, testing, implementing, supporting and troubleshooting large data center networks
• Experience with Cisco Nexus switches (9K, 7K, etc) and Cisco Catalyst switches and routers
• Strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
