Description

We are looking for a skilled Electronics Technician to join our team in Norfolk, VA. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in maintaining, integrating, and troubleshooting electronic systems to ensure optimal performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on advanced technologies while contributing to the success of our technical operations.

Responsibilities
  • Perform on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic systems and equipment.
  • Conduct site surveys and document existing field conditions; provide feedback and recommendations to project teams.
  • Configure hardware and software, test systems for proper operation, and ensure compliance with safety and technical standards.
  • Install system raceways, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, panels, and mounting hardware, ensuring proper grounding and adherence to NEC standards.
  • Terminate, test, and configure electronic devices, network, and IT equipment.
  • Rack and stack head-end equipment; perform cable terminations and ensure alignment with industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate tool inventory and conduct regular inspections.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and contribute to safety planning and execution.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external customers, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines and quality objectives.


Requirements

Qualifications

Security Clearance
  • ActiveSecret Clearancerequired.

Education
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Military electronics training (minimum 720 classroom hours) or equivalent technical education.

Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in electronics installation and/or maintenance across multiple systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience focused on electronic security systems.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Vendor certifications in IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems such as CCURE, Lenel, Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, AIphone Intercom Systems, FFT, DIVAR.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems and related certifications.
  • Graduation from an accredited electronics technician or electrical apprenticeship program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Lenel 7.8 systems is a plus.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Capable of relocating a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 60 feet and climbing scaffolds, aerial lifts, and ladders.
  • Able to walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead routinely.
  • Good vision (corrected if necessary), color vision, and hearing required.
  • Ability to recognize problems, apply general rules to specific issues, and synthesize information effectively.
