responsibilities:



  • Oversee and ensure that all critical data housed on servers is properly backed up in conjunction with planned schedules.
  • Proactively recommend improvements to both physical infrastructure and processes to ensure systems are designed to support business requirements, reliability and performance.
  • Maintain the integrity, security and performance of all servers and systems through proactive monitoring and quick problem resolution.
  • Analyze and determine hardware/software issues by applying a backup process or resolution such as operational discrepancies, job aborts, and connectivity issues. Interact with application teams to prepare schedules for nightly backups. Resolve issues and problems with backup solutions; directly work with outside support vendors to resolve hardware/software issues.
  • Manage the process for user restores and the archiving of terminated user data.
  • Coordinate with Security architect(s) and business teams to remediate vulnerabilities and weaknesses. Ensure all clients and servers are managed.
  • Maintain web filtering systems including the release of updates in multiple data centers maintaining black listed and white listed URLs. Investigate user filtering issues and examine and troubleshoot logs to provide the root cause associated with content/gateway and proxy related issues.
  • Lead all protocol for monitoring alerts on multiple server systems and presented applications: update access control lists and provide technical guidance for hardware/software issues. Investigate presentation issues, manage release updates, software patching, partnering with external vendor support.
  • Design, script and implement solutions to automate daily IT tasks using tools. Responsible for ensuring system integrity for UPS backup power systems
  • Maintain hardware/software inventory and licensing such as operating systems, technology software tools, and includes tracking of serial numbers, system performance and capacities. Reconcile status reports to ensure deployed software is licensed appropriately and at the current version. Analyze software/hardware updates for security issues which may affect system operations, and apply patches and updates as necessary.
  • Establish and adhere to company metrics for system uptime, problem response and resolution.
  • Interact closely with hardware and software vendors, leveraging the vendor as the next higher level of support in addition to license compliance matters
  • Develop and promote standard operating procedures.
  • Manage all aspects of the network hardware, software and communications infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers).
  • Manage and maintain documentation to reflect current state of the environment.



  • Review the updates for security issues and apply to maintain protection levels.


Site Support



  • Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues including password resets, user setup and changes, Office 365 administrative tasks, cell phone administration and coordination with outside support vendors for equipment repairs.
  • Complete, record, and maintain accurate asset tracking information for all Laptop, Desktop PC's, printers and other peripheral equipment deployed.
  • Perform the necessary steps to troubleshoot and resolve any problems with PCs, PC related hardware, software and printing equipment.
  • Administer phone system and contact center
  • Setup and configure technology equipment to standard images including desktop/laptop, printers, phones, etc. and validate user usability.
  • Maintain and update knowledge management database with issues resolution information.


qualifications:


  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years experience in supporting Windows server operating systems, Linux operating systems and Office 365.
  • Experience in network cybersecurity is a plus.
  • Experience in network support, Palo Alto or Cisco systems experience or similar is a plus.
  • Experience with backup software
  • Microsoft certifications a plus.
  • Experience in Microsoft Group Policy is a plus.
  • Must have an excellent customer service/orientation attitude and PC skills necessary to support a fast-paced user environment.
  • Familiarity of Microsoft and Linux administration of operating systems and domains including setting permissions, SSH, SFTP, and server configurations.
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Powershell.
  • Familiarity with SCCM, MECM, or other software deployment architecture is a plus.
  • One of CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) preferred.
  • Hardware System experience: Intel Compatible PC's and peripherals, Dell desktop/laptops, Print Servers, Printers.
  • Ability to work independently on projects assigned with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work with changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
