JOB DESCRIPTION

Apex is seeking a Senior Consultant with strong consultative and problem-solving skills to join our team and drive the design, implementation, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. This role requires deep expertise in AWS, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and modern DevOps practices. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure scalable, secure, and reliable deployments across environments. This role will also provide technical subject matter expertise for Apex sales and account teams during the scoping of new DevOps platform opportunities.

RESPONSIBLITIES

• Architect, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, CodePipeline, and CodeCommit.
• Configure and maintain AWS environments for production teams using Terraform and Terraform modules.
• Automate deployment, rollback, and environment promotion processes.
• Implement feature flags, observability tools, and build SLO dashboards.
• Manage containerized and serverless applications using ECS and AWS Lambda.
• Administer Linux systems and support configuration management using Chef and Ansible.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments to deliver infrastructure solutions.
• Ensure secure networking configurations including VPCs, subnets, DNS, endpoints, and firewalls.
• Support web server configurations including NGINX, reverse proxy setups, and mTLS authentication.
• Identify, coordinate, manage expectations, and offer alternatives when defining customer solutions.
• Build strong client, industry, and technical community relationships and represent Apex Systems as leaders in Industry and Professional events and communities.
• Develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships.
• Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and implementation skills.
• Stay current on relevant technology trends and practices.
• Build trust and respect among internal and external stakeholders and demonstrate collaborative teamwork.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and Terraform.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline design and release management.
• Solid understanding of Linux administration and networking concepts.
• Experience with configuration management tools like Chef and Ansible.
• Familiarity with container orchestration and serverless architectures.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to upskill quickly by analyzing existing production stacks.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in Agile environments.
• Preferred Certifications:
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional
  • HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
  • Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS)
