Role: IT Storage Specialist

Location: Onsite (Louisville, Kentucky)

Job Summary:
The IT Storage Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining storage solutions that meet the organization s needs. This role involves managing data storage systems, ensuring data integrity, optimizing performance, and supporting disaster recovery efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and cloud storage systems.
  • Monitor storage systems for performance, capacity, and security to ensure optimal operation and data integrity.
  • Develop and implement storage management strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform regular system upgrades and patches to maintain optimal performance and security.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to assess storage needs and provide scalable solutions.
  • Manage data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure data availability and business continuity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues promptly.
  • Maintain documentation of storage configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in storage technology to recommend improvements.
  • Assist in budget planning and cost management for storage infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years Proven experience as an IT Storage Specialist or similar role.
  • 3+ years In-depth knowledge of storage technologies and systems (e.g., SAN, NAS, DAS, cloud storage).
  • Familiarity with storage management tools and software.
  • Experience with data backup and disaster recovery planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., EMC, NetApp, CompTIA Storage+) are a plus.
