Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Quincy, MA
Duration: 6 Months

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst (BA) to join a collaborative Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) team. The BA will support Provider Reimbursement and Prior Authorization functional areas, assisting with development, testing, and implementation of projects and enhancements. The role ensures alignment with business objectives and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Medicaid systems, claims processing, and a solid understanding of health plan management and operational concepts. The BA must ensure that system development and testing activities meet business requirements and comply with applicable Federal and state laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in joint application design (JAD) sessions with stakeholders.

  • Apply knowledge of SDLC; familiarity with Agile methodology is a plus.

  • Develop test strategies, scenarios, and test cases based on requirements.

  • Execute and review test runs; sign off on testing components.

  • Document business requirements and participate in their development and testing.

  • Support creation of end-user training materials and documentation.

  • Provide oversight during stabilization phases, including monitoring system changes, developing fix strategies, and ensuring successful implementation.

  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure business requirements are fully defined and tested.

  • Communicate updates and changes to stakeholders and project teams.

  • Support program staff, vendors, and other stakeholders with MMIS-related questions or issues.

  • Provide backup support to other business analysts as needed.

  • Perform data queries and analysis to support project activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in business analysis across all stages of the system project lifecycle.

  • Competency in HIPAA claims and payment transaction processing.

  • Strong data analysis skills; SQL proficiency required.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills for collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and within project teams, providing relevant system analysis services.

  • Highly analytical with the ability to document findings and recommend solutions.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor s degree or higher in Business, IT, or Healthcare Administration.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in business analysis or related healthcare IT projects.
