Position: Controls Engineer
Location: Grand Rapids, MI or Bolingbrook, IL or Erlanger, KY (onsite with some flexibility)

Essential Functions
- Lead the concepting and design of value-adding products that address customer and market needs
- Collaborate with the development team to bring products to life
- Ensure product compatibility with current and future manufacturing operations
- Specify and develop operational sequences for automated equipment
- Prepare schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication
- Develop Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs
- Perform on-site beta testing to validate safety, reliability, and performance metrics
- Investigate field product issues and determine root causes
- Travel domestically up to 40% within North America (primarily the Continental U.S.)
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Required experience with sortation, conveyance equipment, or robotics design
- Deep understanding of industrial automation systems, including HMI and SCADA, and Allen-Bradley controllers
- Knowledge of electrical and safety codes for machine/equipment design, including risk assessments
