Top Skills:

1. AWS Transfer Family

2. Python for AWS Lambda automation

3. AWS security best practices & compliance

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Lead AWS Cloud Architect to take end-to-end technical ownership of a strategic migration project: replacing the existing Managed File Transfer (MFT) solution with AWS Transfer Family. This role requires strong leadership, deep AWS expertise, and hands-on ability to design, implement, and automate secure file transfer workflows while ensuring all upstream and downstream dependencies remain intact.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Architecture & Ownership

o Design and implement a robust architecture using AWS Transfer Family (SFTP, FTPS, FTP) integrated with Amazon S3, IAM, and supporting services.

o Own the technical solution from requirements gathering to production deployment.

o Ensure compliance with security, scalability, and performance standards.

Client Interaction & Stakeholder Management

o Act as the primary technical point of contact for the client.

o Conduct solution presentations, architecture reviews, and technical workshops.

o Translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Automation & Notifications

o Develop AWS Lambda functions (primarily in Python) for:

- File arrival triggers.

- Notifications via SNS, SES, or other channels.

- Error handling and retries.

o Implement event-driven workflows using EventBridge and CloudWatch for monitoring and alerting.

Cutover Planning & Coordination

o Lead migration strategy, including phased cutovers and rollback plans.

o Coordinate with multiple teams to ensure smooth transition without impacting dependent systems.

o Validate end-to-end workflows and dependencies post-migration.

Governance & Best Practices

o Establish security controls (encryption in transit and at rest, IAM policies).

o Implement audit logging and compliance reporting.

o Drive adherence to AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Required Skills & Experience:

- Proven experience as AWS Cloud Architect with expertise in AWS Transfer Family, S3, IAM, SNS, Lambda, and CloudWatch.

- Strong proficiency in Python for automation and serverless development.

- Hands-on experience with file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, FTP).

- Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills.

- Experience in migration projects, cutover planning, and risk mitigation.

- Knowledge of security and compliance standards for data transfer.

Nice-to-Have:

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for Lambda deployments.

- Experience with AWS Secrets Manager for credential management.

- Prior experience with large-scale MFT to AWS migration projects.
