Thermal Engineer
Duration: 3+ years
Location: Lexington, MA (Hybrid)
About the Role:
You ll bring your strong expertise in thermal analysis software like Thermal Desktop, Ansys, COMSOL, and CAD to develop detailed thermal models and execute critical thermal analyses. Your work will ensure safe operating temperatures for advanced optical and communication systems, from platform level down to components.

The Group is innovating across mechanical and aerospace tech, designing systems for ground, underwater, airborne, AND space environments. This means your work impacts national security projects involving high power components like lasers and RF modules.
What You ll Do:
Lead thermal design and architecture for satellites and space payloads
Use finite difference and finite element models to analyze thermal behavior
Plan and perform thermal tests to verify models and meet requirements
Design thermal radiators and cooling architectures for high-power systems
Perform hand calculations alongside CAD and specialized software tools
What We re Looking For:
10+ years of experience in thermal engineering for space systems
Master s Degree (required)
Proven skills with ANSYS, COMSOL, Thermal Desktop, ICEPAK
Hands-on experience with Thermal Vacuum (TVAC) testing
Ability to work independently on multiple fast-paced projects
Active Secret Clearance (Top Secret/SCI clearance preferred)
Additional Info:
Hybrid work model initially onsite 4-5 days/week, then 3-4 days/week
Clearance: Must have Secret clearance at minimum; Top-Secret SCI needed eventually
Travel: Some domestic travel may be required
Interview process: Starts with hiring manager prescreen, followed by technical group interview, possibly onsite
