Role and Responsibilities
A core tenant of network engineering is ensuring the network infrastructure is robust and capable of supporting the software/applications being developed. The Engineer II, System Structure Design is accordingly responsible for designing network and performance features/systems that support Samsung's software product releases. Specifically, the Engineer II, System Structure Design must bridge the gap between new product development and design with Samsung's 4G/5G call processing (the entire sequence of events that occur from the initiation of a call to its completion) and air interface technologies (methods for wireless communication between a mobile device and a base station in cellular networks). Within this context, the Engineer II, System Structure Design must consider the software being employed, the capabilities and limitations of the cellular network, and the networks engineering processes and features that bridge the gap between software and the desired product. Additionally, the Engineer II, System Structure Design is responsible for designing products/scheduler related features for managing product release dates, setting start and end dates for product availability, production planning, and supply chain integration for 4G/5G Radio Access Network (RAN) Development groups and RAN performance groups.
