Job Description Summary
The Caption Health SBU focuses on clinical applications that aid in early disease detection, using AI to assist in conducting ultrasound scans. The Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Caption Health plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of our products. This role works closely with our development and product teams to design, implement, and execute comprehensive test plans, ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our software products. Expertise in automation, test methodologies, and attention to detail are essential in helping us meet and exceed our quality standards.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product managers and development teams to thoroughly understand project requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Design and execute detailed and well-organized test plans and test cases using tools such as Xray and Jira for test management and traceability.
  • Perform comprehensive testing activities, including functional, regression, end-to-end (E2E), integration, and API testing.
  • Support the enhancement and scalability of existing test automation frameworks and test suites.
  • Accurately identify, document, and manage defects while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient resolution.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by proactively identifying potential issues and recommending process enhancements.
  • Maintain clear and thorough documentation to support both testing activities and regulatory/compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams to align QA efforts with compliance standards and documentation needs.
  • Provide regular updates on QA status and testing progress throughout all project phases.
  • Ensure proper configuration and maintenance of test management systems, with a focus on requirements traceability.
  • Utilize a strong understanding of relational databases to support backend validation during testing efforts
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering or computer science (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on QA testing experience in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on web and mobile applications.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed. (Approximately 5% or so annually).
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Desired Characteristics
  • Minimum 2 years of QA experience in healthcare is a plus.
  • Good understanding of QA methods, tools, and processes.
  • Experience building or working with automation frameworks.
  • Comfortable using scripting languages like Python or Java for testing.
  • Quick to learn new processes and follow the full testing lifecycle
  • Certifications like ISTQB.
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and hands-on experience using AI tools.

For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $101,600.00-$152,400.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
