Location: Albany, NY (Onsite)
Duration: 24 Months
Work Hours: 40 Hours per week


Job Description:


ITS is responsible for the development, ongoing maintenance, and support of the legacy UNISYS Welfare Management System Services (WMS-Services) comprised of COBOL applications. This position performs specialized WMS Services support functions using Unisys COBOL, DMS, DPS, QLP, LOUIS II and OLTP for interfacing with other Unisys applications and servers. WMS Services is used by all local districts in New York State including New York City. WMS supports all aspects of Title XX Services and SERMA processes and is the record of authority for critical agency information including applications, eligibility, day-care, Foster Care, and Protective Services. WMS contains both "inter-agency" and "intra-agency" interfaces as follows: CONNECTIONS - intra-agency, Benefit Issuance Control System (BICS) - inter-agency, EMEDNY inter-agency, Sydney on SQL (SOS), WMS and the OCFS Data Warehouse (DW).
Responsibilities:
Candidate will provide general system design, application programming, unit and integration testing of developed programs and documentation of those efforts. Programming tasks may include complete unit routines or functional routines that make up discrete parts of functional units. Programming will utilize structured COBOL.
Analysis, design and development of modifications for the WMS application using COBOL.
Perform writing of database commands, procedures and subroutines on a UNISYS mainframe
Analysis, design and development of both online and batch programs
Work in coordination with the intra agency teams and customers to support the application and interfaces.
Perform unit testing and coordination of UAT and resolve deficiencies for retest.
Analysis and resolution of production issues relating to the application or the database.

Mandatory Skills:

1. 84 months of COBOL programming experience.
2. 60 months experience with UNISYS DPS/TIP 2200 and UCS/ACSI Cobol.
3. 48 months experience with UNISYS 2200 DMS (Cobol).
4. 48 months experience with UNISYS OS 2200 EXEC/ECL.
5. 48 months experience in system analysis and design and speaking with customers to clarify requirements.
6. Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science related field
