Job Title: Network Administrator

Location: Austin, TX

Employment Type: Contract to hire (6+ Months)

Our Opportunity
  • We're looking for a skilled Network Administrator 1 to join our team. You'll be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of our organization's network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, wireless networks, and Internet systems. Your expertise will be key in ensuring network availability, performance, and security through proactive monitoring, diligent maintenance, and effective troubleshooting.


Responsibilities:
  • Network Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, maintain, and support LANs, WANs, wireless networks, and Internet systems.
  • Windows Server & Active Directory: Administer and manage Windows Server environments (2012+) within an Active Directory domain, including managing access control lists, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), file and print services, and automation platforms.
  • Microsoft 365 Services: Manage Microsoft 365 services, including user provisioning, mailbox administration, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Core TCP/IP Services: Configure and support essential TCP/IP services such as LDAP, DHCP, DNS, and SMTP.
  • Network Hardware: Install, configure, and maintain Cisco networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs) and administer Meraki wireless infrastructure.
  • Network Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance using tools like PRTG, MRGT, and ManageEngine; troubleshoot and resolve network issues efficiently.
  • System Maintenance: Perform hardware and software updates and upgrades, and maintain network support software.
  • VoIP & Imaging Systems: Provide operational support for VOIP-based phone systems and imaging/document management systems.
  • Security & Compliance: Coordinate the development, implementation, and maintenance of network security measures and prepare documentation for audits, compliance, and internal reporting.
  • Performance & Scalability: Perform tuning and capacity planning to ensure optimal network performance and scalability.
  • User Support: Provide user training and technical support, and assist with the evaluation of new hardware/software.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in Network Administration or Support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft server environments (2012+), Microsoft 365, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco and Meraki network equipment and VoIP systems.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience documenting and supporting compliance-driven IT environments.
  • 3+ years of experience administering and managing Windows Server environments (2012 or later) within an Active Directory domain.
  • 3+ years of experience managing access control lists, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), file and print services, and automation systems.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting imaging/document management systems and providing operational support for VoIP-based phone systems.
  • 3+ years of experience configuring and supporting core TCP/IP services such as LDAP, DHCP, DNS, SMTP.
  • 3+ years of experience working within virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • 3+ years of experience administering Cisco networking equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting internal LAN/WAN infrastructure, wireless access points, and all telecommunications systems.
  • 3+ years of experience administering and troubleshooting Meraki wireless infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience monitoring and analyzing network performance using tools such as PRTG, MRGT, and ManageEngine.
  • 3+ years of experience performing software and hardware updates, upgrades, and proactive troubleshooting.
  • 3+ years of experience providing documentation and reporting for audits, compliance, and internal use.
  • 3+ years of experience maintaining Microsoft 365 services including user account provisioning, mailbox management, Teams, and SharePoint.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Familiarity with network operating systems, performance monitoring, and security best practices.
  • Ability to analyze support statistics, prepare comprehensive reports, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of imaging/document management systems and telecommunication technologies.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
