Scrum Master
A top Fortune 50 financial institution is seeking a Scrum Master to join their Agile delivery team. This role is responsible for enabling team success by driving effective Scrum practices, facilitating ceremonies, removing impediments, and fostering continuous improvement across Agile teams.
About the Opportunity:
* Hybrid or Remote: Hybrid, based at HQ in Vienna, VA
* Shift: Standard business hours
* Schedule: Monday-Friday
* Hours: 40 hours per week
* Setting: Corporate environment
* Etc.: Supports moderately complex projects with minimal supervision and requires strong business acumen.
Responsibilities:
The Scrum Master will be responsible for:
* Championing Agile values and Scrum practices to foster high-performing, self-organizing teams.
* Facilitating Scrum ceremonies and aligning teams with PI objectives and evolving priorities.
* Removing impediments and driving continuous improvement in team delivery, quality, and velocity.
* Collaborating across teams and Agile Coaches to ensure delivery roadmaps align with strategic goals.
* Building strong cross-functional relationships to support transparency, alignment, and shared ownership.
* Promoting a culture of psychological safety, learning, and inclusive collaboration.
* Leveraging data-driven insights to improve team performance and delivery predictability.
* Supporting cross-team coordination and dependency management within Agile Release Trains or portfolios.
* Advocating for Agile maturity and coaching teams through change and transformation.
* Ensuring team execution aligns with organizational and digital strategy.
Qualifications:
* 2-4 years of experience leading Agile teams or projects
* Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or PMI-ACP certification
* Experience supporting multiple Agile teams simultaneously
* Strong knowledge of Agile principles, Scrum, Kanban, and scaling frameworks (e.g., SAFe)
* Proficient in Agile tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or Rally
* Skilled in facilitation, conflict resolution, and team coaching
* Strong communication skills-verbal, written, and visual
* Ability to influence and build relationships across teams and leadership levels
* Skilled in data analysis, reporting, and performance metrics
* Experience in strategic planning and execution alignment
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with sound judgment
Desired Skills:
* Knowledge of financial services or banking environments
* Experience working in large-scale enterprise or Fortune 100 organizations
* Exposure to regulatory or compliance-driven initiatives
* Strong stakeholder management within complex business structures
* Ability to adapt Agile practices to highly regulated industries
