We are seeking a seasoned Okta specialist for a client engagement. The successful candidate will be an expert in Okta's access management capabilities, responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our client's single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions. This is a hands-on role requiring deep technical expertise and a strong understanding of identity and access management (IAM) principles to meet the client's project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Okta Solution Design and Implementation: Design, configure, and implement Okta solutions for access management, with a primary focus on SSO and MFA for new and existing applications within the client's environment.
* Application Integration: Integrate a wide variety of the client's applications with Okta for SSO, using protocols such as SAML, OIDC, and SWA.
* Enterprise Integration: Integrate Okta with other enterprise services such as CyberArk, Microsoft Entra ID, and other IAM solutions.
* Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts, using PowerShell or other languages, to automate administrative tasks and workflows.
* Access Policy Management: Develop and maintain Okta access policies, including sign-on policies and MFA configurations, to ensure secure and compliant access to client applications.
* Troubleshooting and Support: Act as the subject matter expert for Okta-related issues, providing advanced troubleshooting for SSO and MFA-related incidents. Serve as an escalation point for the project team.
* Security and Compliance: Ensure that all Okta configurations and integrations adhere to the client's security standards and compliance requirements.
* Collaboration: Work closely with client application owners, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver robust access management solutions.
* Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of Okta configurations, integrations, and processes for project deliverables.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Okta Expertise: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Okta, with a demonstrated focus on access management, including SSO, MFA, and Universal Directory. Okta Certified Professional or Okta Certified Administrator is highly desirable.
* IAM Fundamentals: Strong understanding of identity and access management (IAM) concepts and principles, including the distinction between access management and identity governance and administration (IGA).
* SSO Protocols: In-depth knowledge of SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and SCIM.
* Technical Skills:
* Experience with integrating a variety of applications (SaaS, on-prem) with Okta.
* Familiarity with Active Directory, LDAP, and other directory services.
* Proficiency in PowerShell or other scripting languages for automation is necessary.
* Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in a project-based environment.
* Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
