Responsibilities

Analyze business objectives, problems, workflows, and system behavior to identify improvement opportunities and automation options.
Evaluate alternative solutions and conduct cost/benefit analyses for modernization decisions.
Review legacy Java EE components (EJB, JPA, SOAP services) and determine feasibility of enhancements or migration.
Participate in application rationalization and transformation planning for cloud-native platforms.
Support technical walkthroughs to map system behaviors, dependencies, and integration points.
Collaborate with architects and business analysts to ensure modernization retains core business logic.
Assist with migration strategies focused on microservices, containerization, and API-driven architectures.
Use AI code analysis tools to examine legacy applications and identify design patterns and potential issues.
Extract, interpret, and document detailed business rules and requirements from existing systems and codebases.
Work with stakeholders to validate, refine, and align documented requirements.
Identify and record technical debt, architectural details, and transformation impacts.

Minimum Qualifications
14+ years of strong hands-on experience in Java and Java EE development, including EJB, JPA, and SOAP services.
14+ years working with Java SE 1.8 and Java EE 8 on enterprise-grade application servers.
12+ years of experience integrating persistence layers using ORM and linking them to business logic.
10+ years collaborating with cross-functional teams architects, BAs, security engineers to align development efforts with business goals.
8+ years of experience or deep understanding of AI code analysis tools and static code analysis methodologies.
8+ years familiarity with DevSecOps practices, automated testing, CI/CD, and application monitoring.
8+ years exposure to cloud-native transformation: containerization, microservices, elastic scaling, loosely coupled services.
8+ years working with Agile methodologies including sprint planning and backlog refinement.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and software design skills with excellent attention to detail.
2+ years experience using AI development tools.

Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of strong communication and collaboration skills.
6+ years of experience in requirements elicitation and documentation.
