Improved operational efficiency: Deliver timely updates to fiber records, circuit layout records, and connectivity documentation.

Successful GIS application upgrades: Provide thorough evaluation and recommendations for future upgrades of the Ericsson Network Engineer Map Based GIS application.

Enhanced data integrity: Maintain high standards of database accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all GIS systems.

Effective reporting: Generate clear, actionable maps and reports that support decision-making across IT and engineering teams.

Cross-team collaboration: Communicate GIS insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Data Migration & Infrastructure

Perform data conversion and migration for Con Edison's existing telecommunication and data network infrastructure.

Migrate data for supporting network infrastructure such as manholes, service boxes, vaults, poles, towers, buildings, trenches, and conduits.

Build data for Outside Plant (OSP) fiber cables, inner ducts, and cable splices.

Build data for Inside Plant (ISP) fiber cables, cable risers, floor plans, room layouts, cabinet/relay rack layouts, and telecommunication and network equipment rack elevations.

Migrate and build data for network equipment connectivity and Circuit Layout Records (CLR).

Mapping & Analysis

Review, generate, revise, and update land maps using GIS platforms.

Compile geographic data from various sources, including censuses, field observations, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.

Enter new map data using digitizers or direct input of coordinate information, applying principles of cartography such as coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography, and map scales.

Analyze geographic relationships among different types of data.

Generate reports and maps using the GIS database system.

Application Development & Evaluation

Build and upgrade new GIS applications, including software and database upgrades.

Evaluate Map Based GIS applications for future upgrade of the Ericsson Network Engineer Map Based GIS application.
