About the role:
This role is located in the greater Denver, CO area.
The Streaming Media Engineer (Acquisition Team) is responsible for Fubo's linear content acquisition. The engineer will architect solutions and create proper and accurate documentation. The engineer will build upon and improve any existing infrastructure. The engineer will support from an operational perspective every aspect of linear content ingest and transport utilizing various protocols. The engineer is also responsible for maintaining reliable, consistent operation of these systems to provide a top quality video delivery experience for our customers.

Fubo's minimum base pay for this role if hired in Colorado is $155,000 per year; maximum base salary for this role is $180,000 per year. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Fubo's equity plan, annual cash bonus plans, unlimited PTO and a full range of medical benefits. Final offer amount will be at the company's sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience and expertise, location and other business considerations.

About the role:

Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Provisioning, troubleshooting, operations and maintenance of systems, applications and equipment used in the next-gen video delivery ecosystem. Includes physical Data Center and PoP facilities
- Monitor and manage software based and in-house acquisition software and abr monitoring appliances
- Drive issues to resolution and provide root cause analysis if needed
- Work with multiple teams to launch new services on the Fubo platform
- Perform routine maintenances, possibly overnight
- Participate in an on-call rotation and act as a subject matter expert for Fubo internal groups
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience with Zixi Broadcaster Software Platform
- 5+ years experience with Enterprise video encoding operational experience using Elemental, Ateme, or similar encoders
- 5+ years experience troubleshooting Video workflows, preferably in an MVPD environment
- Understanding of HLS and HLS based server-side ad stitching products
- Familiarity with different CDN vendors and their systems (e.g. Akamai, Level3, Fastly, etc.)
- Understanding of various multimedia transport protocols such as: RTP, RTMP, SRT, UDP, Zixi, RIST
- Familiarity with enterprise MPEG Analysis tools, such as Tektronix, Ineoquest, Triveni, etc
- Experience with alternate content in ABR ecosystem (ESAM, ESNI, etc)
- Significant experience with script writing/automation using languages such as Python, Ruby, etc.
- Significant experience utilizing REST API's for configuration/feedback loop
- Significant understanding of backbone video and distribution (Peering, Transport, POP sites, etc)
- Structured cabling experience
- Understanding of fiber optic cable types, make-up of fiber optic cables, and manufacturer specifications to prevent damage of cables
- Understanding of Cat5/6 twisted pair copper wire types and RJ45 connector installation experience
- Understanding of basic tools, construction practices and communication networks
- Understanding of cable installation practices, dressing cables, lacing, terminations, etc.
- Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; lift 50 lbs
