World Wide Technology is looking for a Data Center Engineer. This role is part of WWT s Strategic Resourcing services and is a contract role. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner.

Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $80.00 to $85.00 hourly on W2 hourly. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proficient Data Center Engineer with a strong background in automation and scripting to join our team on a short-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in using PowerShell, Ansible, and other automation tools to streamline patching, provisioning, and reporting processes. Additionally, the role requires the ability to develop and maintain automated workflows for infrastructure tasks, as well as manage container backup and recovery operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automation & Scripting:
  • Utilize PowerShell, Ansible, and other automation tools to enhance efficiency in patching, provisioning, and reporting tasks.
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows to streamline infrastructure management and operational tasks.
  • Implement best practices for automation to ensure consistency, reliability, and scalability of data center operations.
  • Infrastructure Management:
  • Manage container backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to optimize infrastructure performance and support business objectives through automation.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Generate detailed reports on automation processes and infrastructure status, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of automated workflows and infrastructure configurations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in automation and scripting, with expertise in PowerShell and Ansible.
  • Ability to develop and maintain automated workflows for infrastructure tasks.
  • Experience in managing container backup and recovery operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with additional automation tools and technologies.
  • Experience in optimizing data center operations through automation.
