Job Details


This role is focused on supporting the transformation of the product acquisition process for advisors and clients. The primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain the Salesforce UI, specifically enhancing the application status functionality that provides real-time updates throughout the application process. The role also involves working with the E-App builder for digital signatures, review, and approval workflows.

The engineer will collaborate closely with the DT team, integrating backend Java services and translating architectural designs into Lightning Web Components (LWC) and UI logic. Strong mid-level Java skills are required to support backend user stories, while the core focus remains on delivering a seamless UI experience.

This position is part of a strategic effort to streamline and modernize the product acquisition pipeline, with direct collaboration across teams, including product managers and other technical resources.


Key Responsibilities
Prototyping and Evaluation:
Develop prototypes using Salesforces declarative and imperative tools to explore potential use cases.
Identify and mitigate potential limitations or scalability challenges in using Salesforce for long-term projects.
Collaborate with internal teams to refine requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Salesforce Development:
Utilize declarative tools like Flows and OmniScript to configure and automate processes.
Employ imperative tools, including Apex and Lightning Web Components (LWC), for advanced customizations.
Thought Leadership:
Provide strategic input on when Salesforce is the right solution versus other platforms.
Advise on best practices for leveraging Salesforce in enterprise environments.
Collaboration:
Work closely with internal Salesforce team, fostering strong relationships and credibility.
Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to leadership.
Full-Stack Expertise (Preferred):
Support broader technology discussions and integrations by bringing skills in Java and React for prototyping or evaluating hybrid solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Salesforce Expertise:
5+ years of Salesforce development experience.
Proficient in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, and OmniScript.
Strong understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, limitations, and integration best practices.
Some Java apability. Will be asked to take on java stories when their isnt salesforce work.
Programming Skills:
Experience with Java and React to support cross-platform evaluations and integrations.
Prototyping and Analytical Skills:
Ability to quickly develop and iterate on prototypes within the Salesforce platform.
Strategic mindset to identify blind alleys and scalability challenges early in the development lifecycle.
Collaboration and Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with internal Salesforce team.
Clear and concise communication of technical findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Platform Objectivity:
Balanced perspective to evaluate Salesforces strengths and limitations objectively, avoiding platform bias.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Salesforce Cloud (OmniStudio tools like OmniScript and DataRaptor).
Knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, including when to use declarative versus imperative tools.
Prior involvement in evaluating or transitioning enterprise platforms for scalability.

Timeline and Expectations
Prototyping Phase: Prototyping expected to last 4 weeks, with a focus on viable Salesforce use cases.
Transition to Development: Then transition into a role on a second York-managed team developing the MVP.
