Job Description:
Apex Systems is currently hiring for a Cisco Engineerwith a reputable financial client. The team is responsible for managing the Access space within the client's infrastructure, which includes product certification and code management for remote ATMs, as well as oversight of Cisco technologies, SD-WAN, wireless networks, and routing/switching systems. They currently support a large-scale environment with over 78,000 devices.
This role will primarily focus on independent project work aligned with evolving business needs. Key responsibilities include network design, product certification, and infrastructure enhancements. The ideal candidate will be proactive, technically skilled, and interested in long-term growth within the organization. The hiring manager is particularly seeking someone who is enthusiastic about transitioning into a full-time role and growing their career within the client.

- Strong Cisco Engineering Expertise: Hands-on experience with Cisco technologies, including Catalyst Center (formerly DNA Center), switches, and routers. Active Cisco certifications are required. Note: This is not a security engineering role.
- SD-WAN Experience: Proven ability to design, implement, and support SD-WAN solutions in enterprise environments.
- Excellent Documentation Skills: Ability to clearly document network designs, configurations, and procedures.
- Team Fit & Communication: Must be confident, resilient, and able to thrive in a direct, fast-paced, and collaborative team environment. The team values technical competence and straightforward communication.
Desired Qualifications:
- Python Scripting: Experience with Python, particularly in relation to Cisco Catalyst automation, is a plus.
- Azure Experience: Familiarity with Azure networking or cloud infrastructure is beneficial.
