Role: Biomedical Equipment Technician/Tester
Product: W2 Contract
Start Date: 10/20
Location: Onsite
Length: 6 Weeks, 40 hours/week
Client will cover expense costs for out of market candidates
Our client in Boston is looking to bring on several Biomedical Technicians/Testers to help with an infrastructure uplift for their clinical devices and instruments that have reached end-of-life.
Description
You will provide and perform electrical safety testing, calibration, troubleshooting, performance assurance testing and emergency repairs for all biomedical, laboratory and associated medical instrumentation used throughout the client location.
You will orders supplies and parts for equipment and stock inventory.
You will maintain an accurate computer database of equipment which includes: departmental wide inventory, repair data and legacy equipment.
You will assist in the establishment of performance assurance guidelines as part of a comprehensive electrical safety program.
Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoots critical care related instrumentation in critical care or surgical areas while in use. Diagnoses the source of operational failure, if any, of patient related equipment. Determine if the operation of the device is correct and to provide recommendations for improved use.
  • Conducts complete electrical safety testing and inspections on all equipment under the jurisdiction of the department of Clinical Engineering and the department of Health and Hospitals.
  • Provides required periodic calibration of equipment to ensure proper operating function.
  • Conducts complete performance assurance testing. Performs complete performance maintenance procedures as required following protocols.
  • Performs emergency and routine repairs on instrumentation under the jurisdiction of the department of Clinical Engineering.
  • Compiles and updates equipment inventory, repairs data and legacy equipment.
  • Assists in the formation of performance assurance forms.
  • Participates in the evaluation of biomedical instrumentation under the supervision of the manager or designee.
  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained and serviced
  • Follows established hospital infection control and safety procedures.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr.
