Job Description:

Depth & Scope:
  • Works with executive management and sponsors across client and technology groups to agree on comprehensive IT solutions to meet/exceed business objectives for new and existing systems/applications
  • Ensures proposed solutions adhere to TDS-wide and TD-wide Architecture guiding principles, articulate strategic vs tactical balance in solution delivery
  • Develops comprehensive IT strategy to support Global Fixed Income Derivatives, Currencies and Commodities business lines in a consistent, efficient, scalable and cohesive manner
  • Manages key executive relationships with Global Head of FICM, heads of FX, Fixed Income, Derivatives, IFI business lines and Infrastructure partners - Heads of Operations, Market Risk Control, CMRM
  • Ensures fiscal management of group's budgets, forecasts and expenses both from change the bank (projects budget) and run the bank perspective
  • Delivers a number of programs outlined in Infrastructure Strategy on time, budget and scope achieving benefits outlined in each business case. Specific deliveries include:
  • FX trade booking platform replacement and consolidation
  • eFX Strategy - new eFX platform implementation
  • Fixed Income Derivatives Strategy - product capabilities expansion and platforms consolidation
  • Valuation Services delivery for Market Risk and PL program - consolidated consistent valuation and risk generation across FICM
  • Valuation Services delivery for eFI strategy
  • Manages integration of all systems, projects and technical interfaces to ensure a high level of service and support to the client and efficient system operation
  • Researches and innovates to build/buy or reuse system components
  • Ensures operational, reputational, and proprietary risks are minimized and focus on process improvement
  • Champions and sponsors Agile transformation across TDS, articulates Agile Development Strategy, leads by example changing approach and culture within the team, defines appropriate practices across TDS helping other teams to succeed
  • Builds a global team across Toronto, New York, London. Partners closely with Singapore team to ensure alignment on the strategy in delivery to Singapore region. Strives to optimize operational cost of running existing platforms and invest prudently in platforms to stay current and increase operational efficiency
  • Leads the development and implementation of the following key platforms (along with several other smaller technologies):
    • Pre-trade analytics and trading tools (multiple applications)
    • Valuation Services
    • Murex FXO and GPM
    • Wall Street
    • Calypso Derivatives
    • TDFX Live, TDFX and TDFI platforms
    • eFX (Broadway) platform
    • AD+, FXCenter platforms
    • Darwin

Education & Experience:
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
  • 10+ years related experience required
  • Demonstrated excellent management, organizational and leadership skills required
  • Proven ability to manage large and complex projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required
  • Financial modelling skills required
  • Technical knowledge of technology in capital markets
  • Advanced PC skills required
