Position Title: Application Technical Lead - Senior
Location: Northern Virginia (Quantico-Stafford); Remote possible

Role:
We are seeking a certified Senior-Level Application Technical Lead with expertise in application architecture, system integration, and DevSecOps pipelines. The work supports a multi-year project to sustain and develop a cloud-based information management system for a Department of Defense customer.
Duties:
- Provide technical leadership for the design, development, and maintenance of Marine Corps Technical Data Management applications.
- Lead application architecture decisions and ensure compliance with DoD and Marine Corps IT standards.
- Oversee Agile teams in the development of secure, scalable, and interoperable solutions.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, Release Train Engineer, and Product Owners to align development with mission priorities.
- Mentor developers and ensure adherence to coding and DevSecOps best practices.
- Work closely with the platform architect to ensure continuous integration, forecast risks and issues, and provide leadership to individual ADT application developers to ensure continuity of effort.
- Highly experienced in complex enterprise implementations on the software platform.
- Undertake complex system integration configuration.
- Provide technical support for complex installation requirements and provide hardware and architecture design recommendations.
- Collaborate with the hosting site manager to install, configure, and accredit the software platform.
- Implement security-related configuration in the application infrastructure.
- Lead design reviews and production readiness reviews with the team to ensure the solution is designed and configured for optimal performance in the designated environments.
- Install and configure the software platform and configure integration with LDAP/Active Directory or other enterprise services.
- Provide recommendations for and undertake custom development if required.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related field (master s preferred).
Certifications:
- Appian certified Senior Developer.
Experience Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in software development and maintenance, application architecture, and system integration.
- 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining enterprise-level systems that use the Appian platform
- DoD software development and maintenance experience is highly desired.
- Strong familiarity with NoSQL databases (MarkLogic preferred; MongoDB, Cassandra acceptable).
Skills:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Expertise in application architecture, system integration, and DevSecOps pipelines.
- Ability to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Proficiency with Agile/SAFe methodologies and tools.
