Position Summary:
The Senior Snowflake Engineer will lead the development and optimization of Snowflake-based data solutions to support portfolio analytics, client reporting, compliance, and investment research for our Private Wealth Management client. The role requires hands-on experience with data modeling, ELT/ETL design, performance tuning, and integration with financial systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable Snowflake data warehouses to support client analytics, portfolio performance, CRM, and regulatory reporting for PWM.
- Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines integrating data from custodians, portfolio accounting systems, CRM (e.g., Salesforce), and market data providers.
- Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., SEC, FINRA) and internal governance policies.
- Optimize Snowflake compute usage and storage through performance tuning, materialized views, and efficient data partitioning.
- Implement secure data access controls and audit mechanisms to protect sensitive client information.
- Work with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) to manage data ingestion and orchestration.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with 3+ years specifically in Snowflake development.
- Proven experience working with data in a Private Wealth Management, Asset Management.
- Strong SQL skills and ability to optimize complex queries and data pipelines.
- Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture, role-based security, and performance optimization.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Shell.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and version control (Git).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Snowflake Certification (SnowPro Core or Advanced).
- Understanding of financial products such as equities, fixed income, mutual funds, and alternative investments.
