Job Details

Job Title: Senior Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management Manager
Location: Hybrid (Foster City, CA 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Duration: 12 months contract
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management Manager to lead strategic sourcing projects and manage supplier relationships across multiple categories.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support new product development, negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and ensure timely procurement of critical materials.
Key Responsibilities
Lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management
Manage procurement, purchase orders, and inventory of components
Serve as primary contact for business discussions, supply planning, and supplier risk management
Conduct annual business reviews and lead supplier risk assessments
Collaborate with internal teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Technical Development) to meet outsourced needs
Support make vs. buy decisions and operational excellence initiatives
Develop budgets and track financial accruals related to sourcing activities
Coordinate meetings and communicate key decisions with suppliers and stakeholders
Ensure compliance with GMP regulations and quality expectations
Required Qualifications
8+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech sourcing, procurement, or supplier management roles
Experience managing manufacturing service providers or direct material suppliers
Strong knowledge of GMP and CMC development processes
Proficient in SAP or other ERP systems
Demonstrated ability in contract negotiation and supplier risk mitigation
Excellent communication and leadership skills for managing cross-functional teams
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with combination products (drug + device)
Advanced degree (MBA or Master's) or Project Management certification
Experience with global supplier networks and operational excellence methodologies
