Description
We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. In this long-term contract role, you will be responsible for managing network infrastructure with a focus on application delivery, security policies, and traffic protection. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies while ensuring the stability and security of enterprise systems.
Responsibilities:
Configure, deploy, and maintain F5 application delivery platforms, including F5 Distributed Cloud components.
Develop and manage security policies, such as web application firewall configurations, bot defense mechanisms, and DDoS protection.
Monitor network systems for health, performance, and security issues, implementing timely resolutions as needed.
Troubleshoot and resolve traffic management and application availability challenges, providing detailed root cause analyses.
Implement regular updates, patches, and upgrades to maintain system compliance and stability.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, policies, and operational procedures.
Ensure adherence to organizational security standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with teams to automate processes using scripting tools like Python, Bash, or iRules.
Optimize network protocols, including Cisco routers and firewalls, BGP, and other Cisco networking solutions.
Provide expert-level support and guidance on network architecture and integrations.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience with F5 platforms, including configuration and maintenance of F5 modules.
Hands-on expertise in Cisco routers, Palo Alto firewalls, and Cisco ASA technologies.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
Proven ability to configure and manage security tools, including web application firewalls and automated threat mitigation.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or iRules for process automation.
Excellent troubleshooting skills to manage network performance and resolve complex issues.
Familiarity with cloud-based integrations and distributed network architecture.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team environment.
