Salary: $30.00 USD Hourly - $40.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Physical Security Engineer
This role will be onsite in Houston, TX.

Location: Primarily Onsite in Houston, TX (Travel Required)
Duration: 6 Months
Travel: Required - Candidates outside Houston must be willing and able to travel to Houston and other sites as needed
Clearance: Must possess a valid TWIC card
About the Role

We are seeking a skilled technician to lead a 6-month project focused on minimizing alarm occurrences across multiple facilities. This role involves system analysis, sensor diagnostics, signage installation, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities
System Improvement & Alarm Reduction
  • Analyze alarm system data to identify recurring issues and false triggers.
  • Implement system enhancements to improve reliability and reduce false alarms.
  • Conduct testing and validation of improvements.
Sensor Diagnostics & Maintenance
  • Perform audits of sensors across HQ and satellite facilities.
  • Identify and repair or replace faulty or unreliable sensors.
  • Establish and document a preventive maintenance schedule.
Signage & Process Optimization
  • Evaluate and install signage to reduce accidental alarm triggers.
  • Develop and implement process improvements.
  • Train staff on new procedures and signage interpretation.
Deliverables
  • Comprehensive report on alarm system analysis and improvements.
  • Inventory of faulty sensors and corrective actions taken.
  • Documentation of installed signage and process changes.
  • Training materials and attendance records.
  • Preventive maintenance schedule.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge & Experience
  • Basic electronics and DC circuit knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Experience with alarm and access control systems (preferably LENEL OnGuard).
  • Installation of IP cameras (PTZ and fixed).
  • Familiarity with electrified door hardware (Best, HES, Von Duprin).
Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Skilled in using electrical testing tools (e.g., multimeter).
  • Comfortable operating ladders, lifts, and hand/power tools.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
