Job Details

The Director, Data Quality & Data Governance is a strategic leadership position responsible for establishing and leading a new, custom-built data quality and governance program for the organization. Reporting to an executive sponsor, the immediate priority is to define the data quality strategy for a major ERP transition, ensuring data is standardized, accurate, and ready for migration. The role includes building and leading a team of 2-3 Data Analysts and requires expertise in cultural change management and strong cross-functional influence to drive adoption across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • ERP & Strategic Program Leadership:
  • Define, launch, and lead the comprehensive Data Governance and Data Quality program, starting with a focus on ERP transformation data cleanup and migration readiness.
  • Design the program for scalability across all enterprise data, including multiple existing ERP systems.
  • Change Management & Adoption:
  • Act as the key liaison and influencer between IT and business functions (e.g., Customer, Operations, Finance) to drive the adoption of new standards.
  • Build a culture of data quality by communicating, educating stakeholders, and leveraging a Data Steward Network.
  • Data Standards & Team Management:
  • Define and create enterprise-wide data standards, policies, and quality metrics.
  • Establish processes for monitoring, measuring, and continuously improving data quality.
  • Hire, lead, and mentor the supporting team of 2-3 Data Analysts.

Required Background & Attributes

  • Experience: Proven experience implementing a full end-to-end Data Governance/Data Quality program (strategy, implementation, and adoption) at least once.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) practices.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with governance and quality technologies such as Azure Purview, Informatica, and Collibra.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
