Minimum Requirements:
10+ years of hands-on experience as a Business Data Analyst in the IT industry.
10+ years of experience collaborating with technical and non-technical teams to solve complex business problems.
10+ years of experience designing and optimizing data workflows using modeling or mapping tools.
10+ years of experience writing Epics and User Stories with acceptance criteria.
8+ years of experience creating and maintaining data-related documentation.
8+ years of experience designing and presenting visual data models and dashboards.
8+ years of experience leading data-focused meetings and documenting outcomes.
Preferred Experience:
4+ years with a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
4+ years of experience managing multiple data projects or assignments concurrently.
3+ years of working knowledge of eligibility rules for SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF programs.
3+ years of experience interpreting and applying policy within an integrated eligibility case management system.
Summary:
The Senior Business Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business objectives, identifying alternative solutions, and conducting cost/benefit analyses to support system improvements and automation.
This role requires a deep understanding of user requirements and operational procedures to develop or enhance computer systems.
The analyst will translate complex business needs into actionable requirements and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment between business goals and technical capabilities. A high degree of independence, creativity, and judgment is expected.
Responsibilities:
Analyze current business processes, data flows, and system functionalities to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
Conduct studies and cost/benefit analyses of proposed solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document detailed business requirements.
Write Epics and User Stories with acceptance criteria for development and QA teams.
Document user needs, program functions, and development steps for system modifications.
Review system capabilities and limitations to assess feasibility of requested changes.
Create and maintain data-related documentation including data dictionaries and mapping specifications.
Design and present visual data models and dashboards to communicate insights and performance.
Lead workshops and meetings to elicit requirements and resolve data-related issues.
Ensure alignment between business objectives and system capabilities.
