SAIC is seeking a Platform Engineering and Modernization Lead to join our energized team as we embark on a large DoD AI initiative.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering and Modernization Lead to oversee the application of efficient, modern Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) best practices. The Engineering and Modernization Lead will also play a key role in implementing a system integration approach to facilitate the rapid and efficient insertion and refreshment of technology through modular design and open standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead teams of engineers and data scientists in designing, building, modernizing, and integrating capabilities to enhance the technical architecture.
  • Provide support for the entire IT engineering lifecycle, including requirements gathering, system design and development, installation, integration and testing, and sustainment.
  • Implement efficient DevSecOps best practices to ensure secure and continuous development, testing, and operations activities.
  • Establish and manage a continuous integration, delivery, and user feedback methodology for systematic and repeatable delivery of capabilities to production environments.
  • Utilize agile methodologies for infrastructure management, application management, and software development, deploying, accrediting, and maintaining components of the enterprise platforms using a GitOps approach.
  • Develop data access workflows to streamline data retrieval processes and integrate new tools and capabilities into existing systems to enhance functionality.
  • Provide capacity management to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, emerging hardware/software systems, and industry best practices that lead to architecture modernization.
  • Define functional partitioning and physical modularity of the system to facilitate future replacement of specific subsystems and components by third parties without impacting other parts of the system.
  • Oversee Test and Evaluation (T&E) services for data models against predetermined metrics and within agile development frameworks.
  • Supervise the development, testing, deployment of processes and tools required to engineer secure applications that meet cybersecurity requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree and fifteen (15) years of experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or similar discipline, Master's degree and twelve (12) years of experience or PhD and ten (10) years of experience. Will consider additional years of experience in lieu of education
  • A minimum of eight years of experience supporting operations in DoD IT enterprise environments
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing Engineering Modernization and Cloud Computing service delivery teams, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud computing infrastructure and platform solutions on at least one of the large Cloud Service Providers (CSP); Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) environments and across multiple security enclaves or networks
  • Experience testing and supporting cloud applications.
  • Experience utilizing Agile development methodologies and Application Lifecycle Management
  • Experience leading a cross-functional technology team
  • A minimum of one of the following professional certifications:
    • Professional Cloud Solutions Architect (PCSA)
    • Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect (Professional)
    • MS Certified Azure Solutions Architect (Expert)
    • Google Cloud Certified Architect (Professional)

Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
