Release Manager:

Location: San Jose, CA or Hillsborough, OR or Rocklin, CA

Primary Skills: Result oriented Release and Configuration Management leader. Expertise in enterprise software delivery with strong competencies in release planning, coordinating, and overseeing the development and deployment of software releases across the technology platforms, governance and End-to-End Configuration Lifecycle Management.

Key responsibilities and expected output : Responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the deployment of software releases across the credit union s technology platforms, including online banking, mobile apps, internal systems, and third-party integrations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring releases are delivered on time, within scope, and with minimal disruption to business operations and member services.

Required tech stack and other related details: Key Responsibilities Release Planning & Coordination Manage the end-to-end release lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating releases across multiple teams and systems. Collaborate with product owners, developers, QA, infrastructure, and business units to align release content and timelines. Maintain a release calendar and ensure transparency across departments. Governance & Risk Management Define and enforce release management standards, processes, and controls to ensure high-quality deployments. Identify release-related risks and implement mitigation strategies. Coordinate rollback plans and post-release recovery procedures. Change & Configuration Management Ensure that change requests are properly assessed, documented, and approved before deployment. Maintain version control of software builds and deployment artifacts. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Act as the primary point of contact for release-related inquiries and status updates. Provide clear, timely communication to technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership. Prepare release notes and deployment documentation for internal teams and end-users. Continuous Improvement Analyze release performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. Work with DevOps and automation teams to streamline release pipelines and reduce manual processes. Champion continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) best practices.

Good to have tech stack and other related details: 5+ years of experience in IT project management or software release management. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), DevOps, and ITIL change management processes. Experience coordinating releases across complex, regulated environments (preferably financial institutions or banks). Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Any other information considered critical / Useful": Experience with core banking systems, digital banking platforms, and third-party fintech integrations. Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Git, Azure DevOps. Certifications: PMP, ITIL Foundation, or Agile/Scrum certifications
