About the Role

As a Software Engineer 3 - Mainframe, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of mission-critical mainframe applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalability, security, and compliance in a regulated financial environment. Your expertise in mainframe technologies will help drive innovation, improve performance, and support business objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize mainframe applications using IBM MVS, COBOL, JCL, and DB2 SQL
  • Architect and improve batch processing workflows, ensuring efficiency and reliability
  • Manage job scheduling using CA7 Scheduler for seamless system operations
  • Enhance and refine procedural code (Procs) for optimized performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues using structured debugging techniques
  • Leverage REXX scripting for automation and process enhancements (preferred)
  • Collaborate with teams utilizing Agile methodologies to improve workflows (preferred)
  • Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations, implementing security best practices
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Mainframe Software Engineering or related fields
  • Expertise in IBM MVS, COBOL, JCL, and DB2 SQL for large-scale applications
  • Experience with CA7 Scheduler for job management and automation
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, applying a structured approach to issue resolution
  • Ability to work in regulated financial environments (preferred)
  • Exposure to REXX scripting and Agile development methodologies (preferred)
