Role and responsibilities
- SAP Finance configuration: Configure and maintain SAP FI modules, with a primary focus on General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Asset Accounting (AA).
- General Ledger (GL) management:
- Oversee and manage GL accounting, including the configuration and maintenance of the chart of accounts, company codes, fiscal years, and financial period closing processes.
- Perform and support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Data management and migration:
- Lead and execute financial data migration activities from legacy systems to SAP, including master data (GL accounts) and transaction data.
- Develop and implement data migration strategies, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and completeness throughout the process.
- Utilize data migration tools such as SAP Migration Cockpit (for S/4HANA) or LSMW.
- Reporting and analysis:
- Develop and generate accurate financial reports using standard SAP tools and custom reports based on business requirements.
- Configure and utilize SAP reporting tools like Report Painter/Writer, ALV reports, or modern tools like SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
- Define and configure Financial Statement Versions (FSVs) to meet both management and statutory reporting needs (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Cross-module integration: Ensure seamless integration points between the Finance module and other key SAP modules, such as Sales and Distribution (SD) and Materials Management (MM).
- Business process optimization: Analyze existing financial business processes to identify areas for improvement and propose appropriate system solutions aligned with best practices.
- Testing and documentation:
- Create detailed functional specifications and test scripts for custom reports or system enhancements.
- Participate in and support system testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- End-user support and training: Provide end-user training and resolve day-to-day functional and reporting-related issues.
Required skills and qualifications
- Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
- SAP experience:
- Minimum of 3 5 years of experience as an SAP Financials (FI/FICO) consultant or in a similar role.
- Proven experience in end-to-end SAP implementation, upgrade, and support projects.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles and accounting standards, such as GAAP or IFRS.
- Technical skills:
- Expertise in configuring SAP FI-GL and its related components.
- Experience with SAP data migration tools (LSMW, Migration Cockpit) and methodologies.
- Familiarity with standard reporting tools like Report Painter/Writer and a solid understanding of financial data structures.
- Knowledge of integration with other SAP modules is essential.
- Soft skills:
