Job Details

Title: Systems/Network Engineer
Location: Remote (local candidates only) Occasional onsite presence required in Phoenix, AZ (approx. 4 6 times per year)
Type: 6-month contract to hire


As a Systems/Network Engineer you will manage and enhance enterprise IT infrastructure and application environments. You ll support both on-premise and cloud-based systems, with an emphasis on stability, performance, automation, and security. This is a remote-first position with minimal onsite requirements and strong potential for full-time employment. This position requires strong Windows and Linux experience, devops and automation experience, and IT Service Management (ITSM) experience.


Your role:


  • Maintain and improve the performance, reliability, and security of enterprise infrastructure and applications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to deploy and support IT systems and services.
  • Monitor system health and proactively address performance or availability issues.
  • Use automation tools to streamline operational processes and increase efficiency.
  • Maintain and update documentation and support materials for infrastructure-related procedures.
  • Identify and resolve system vulnerabilities in coordination with the security team.
  • Manage a range of IT systems including servers, storage solutions, remote access, and cloud services.
  • Support virtual and physical infrastructure environments, including Active Directory, security appliances, and remote desktop platforms.
  • Follow ITSM practices for incident, problem, change, and configuration management.
  • Provide user support through issue tracking, troubleshooting, and resolution.


What you ve got:


  • Strong experience with both Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level system and network administration.
  • Solid understanding of multi-tier application architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools such as PowerShell or similar platforms.
  • Ability to work independently while staying aligned with established operational procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience supporting cloud-based and on-premise infrastructure in a mission-critical environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Understanding of ITSM practices and tools.
  • Certification in AWS, Cisco, Microsoft, or VMware preferred.
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience (5+ years in a system/network administration role) preferred.
