Overview

client is seeking a hands-on SQL Developer for a key logistics client. In this role, you will build and maintain robust SQL Server solutions powering critical ERP, TMS, and WMS systems. The ideal candidate will combine strong T-SQL development with scripting expertise and a solid understanding of logistics workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Database Development: Design, develop, and optimize SQL Server databases (tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers) using T-SQL and SSMS.

  • ETL & Integration: Build and maintain ETL processes to manage data flow between ERP, TMS, WMS, and financial systems; assist with API and flat-file integrations.

  • Automation: Create automated scripts and jobs using Python, PowerShell, or other scripting tools to support system maintenance.

  • Reporting: Develop and support SSRS reports and custom reporting solutions based on stakeholder needs.

  • Optimization: Troubleshoot performance issues, tune complex queries, and ensure high standards of data quality and scalability.

  • Data Modeling: Document database schema structures, workflows, and data processes to ensure maintainable solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: 3 6 years of experience as a SQL Developer or Database Engineer.

  • Technical Core: Advanced knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, and SSMS.

  • Scripting: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or VBScript.

  • Modeling: Strong understanding of database schema design, data modeling, and query optimization.

  • Reporting/ETL: Familiarity with SSRS and custom ETL/data transformation processes.

Preferred & Bonus Skills

  • Industry Experience: Background in transportation, logistics, or supply chain.

  • Systems: Experience with Koerber or other Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

  • Visualization: Exposure to Power BI or Tableau.

  • Cloud: Experience with Azure SQL or AWS RDS.

  • API: Familiarity with web service integrations.
