Russell Tobin's client is hiring an Accounting Specialist in Minneapolis, MN
Employment Type: Contract
Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite) - Minneapolis, MN 55402
Pay rate: $19-$20.80/hr
Responsibilities:
- Process transactions, reconcile accounts, and maintain various ledgers.
- Handle financial documents such as accounts payable, vendor invoices, journal vouchers, and expense reimbursements.
- Ensure all transactions are accurate, complete, and processed within established timelines.
- Research and correct discrepancies, escalating issues when necessary.
- Perform manual matching of items (approximately 2,000 per 8-hour shift).
- Complete monthly reconciliations within the designated window.
- Research, escalate, and resolve all aged items within 5 days.
- Prepare and run routine financial reports and analyses.
- Collaborate via email with business line partners as needed (no phone or in-person client interaction required).
Requirements:
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical abilities.
- Proven experience in exception processing, account reconciliation, or related accounting/finance functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Recon and Recon Tool systems.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve exceptions and interpret complex data accurately.
- Experience preparing financial reports and performing detailed data analysis.
- Advanced computer navigation skills and strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
