Job Details

Pay Range: $40/hr. - $43/hr.


Day To Day Responsbilities:



  • The controls engineer will be reviewing existing control systems on rides and attractions across theme parks around the globe.

  • They will specify standardized parts lists, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and I/o schematics.

  • Additionally they will diagnose control issues (e.g I/O failures, powers supply inconsistencies, communication errors.) and articulate across engineering teams, maintenance staff and vendors.


Must Have:



  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial control systems, including hands-on work with PLCs, power distribution, and I/O cards.

  • Strong knowledge of control hardware selection, panel layout, and industrial electrical standards (e.g., NEC, UL, IEC).

  • Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs (e.g., Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Beckhoff).

  • Familiarity with control system communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and ProfiNet.

  • Strong analytical and documentation skills; able to assess system differences and propose structured solutions.


Nice To Have:



  • Experience working with theme park attractions or complex motion/ride systems.

  • Understanding of safety PLCs and functional safety design (e.g., SIL-rated systems, Category 3/4 architectures).

  • Experience managing cross-site standardization projects or multi-site engineering coordination.

  • Experience with Industrial Automation.
