Business Analyst
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Business Analyst to support a major transformation project that involves modernizing legacy systems and enabling seamless data conversion. This role demands strong traditional BA expertise, a deep understanding of business processes, and hands-on experience with legacy-to-modern system migrations. The ideal candidate will thrive in complex, evolving environments and possess the communication and analytical skills to lead requirements gathering, data mapping, and user story development.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid Agile SDLC
* Elicit, document, and manage clear and comprehensive business requirements using industry best practices.
* Develop detailed user stories, process flows, business process documentation, and system diagrams.
* Facilitate and lead data mapping sessions, ensuring alignment between legacy and target systems and accurate data conversion.
* Collaborate with technical teams to ensure requirements are feasible and well-understood.
* Analyze and document current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") business processes to support solution design and implementation.
* Drive legacy system decommissioning and support transition to modern platforms.
* Take full ownership of understanding and translating business needs into functional requirements.
* Lead or participate in business process modeling and improvement activities.
* Engage with stakeholders and SMEs to validate future state design and data transformation logic.
* Utilize Azure Boards or similar tools for Agile work item tracking and sprint planning.
* Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
* Anticipate and address risks, blockers, and challenges in communication or scope management.
Required Qualifications:
* 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in software development or transformation projects.
* Demonstrated experience with legacy to modern system migration and data conversion initiatives.
* Proficient in creating business process flows, user stories, and functional documentation.
* Strong understanding of data mapping, data validation, and reconciliation across systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to lead tough conversations, ask probing questions, and clarify ambiguity.
* Proven ability to extract actionable insights from business mapping exercises and workshops.
* Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and design future state business processes aligned with technical solutions.
* Hands-on experience with Agile SDLC in a hybrid environment.
* Proficiency in Azure DevOps Boards or similar tools for managing requirements and sprints.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in large-scale enterprise transformation projects.
* Background in industries with complex data and system landscapes (e.g., finance, healthcare, insurance).
* Familiarity with change management and stakeholder engagement strategies.
