Job Title: Release Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Release Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee software releases across multiple environments and workstreams.
The ideal candidate combines strong release governance, hands-on technical understanding, and exceptional communication skills to ensure smooth, reliable deployments across the organization.
This role plays a key part in driving maturity in release governance, ensuring compliance with change management processes, CAB approvals, and executive communication standards.
Key Responsibilities
Release Planning & Coordination
Plan, manage, and coordinate releases across Development, QA, UAT, Pre-Production, and Production environments.
Work with Delivery and Project Managers to align dependencies across multiple workstreams (PowerApps, Integration Services, Reporting & Analytics, Data Engineering).
Maintain a live dependency map and conduct readiness reviews to identify and mitigate risks.
Maintain a unified release calendar, identifying schedule conflicts and dependencies.
Ensure environment readiness and enforce pre-release quality gates.
Track, document, and communicate release activities, milestones, and timelines.
Lead post-release reviews to capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement.
Tooling & Automation
Oversee and optimize CI/CD pipelines for efficient, repeatable deployments.
Collaborate with DevOps teams to embed observability, monitoring, and alerting.
Support the transition from Azure DevOps to Jira, ensuring workflow/process alignment.
Dependency & Risk Management
Align cross-team dependencies across all workstreams.
Facilitate readiness reviews and maintain dependency tracking to mitigate release risks.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as the central coordination point for release communication from engineering teams to IT leadership.
Deliver structured, timely updates during readiness, go-live, and post-release validation.
Provide concise executive summaries, dashboards, and reports.
Facilitate release bridge calls and post-implementation reviews.
Continuous Improvement
Track and report release metrics (success rates, rollback frequency, automation coverage).
Identify process inefficiencies and drive improvements in automation and governance.
Contribute to runbooks, release templates, and Confluence documentation.
Required Skills
Strong continuous improvement mindset.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and Jira.
Experience with SAFe or multi-squad agile environments.
Working knowledge of SQL, deployment scripting, and data integrity validation.
Strong understanding of Git and branching strategies.
Proven experience supporting CAB meetings and release governance.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical details for business stakeholders.
Strong collaboration skills across engineering, QA, and operations teams.
