We are seeking a skilled and versatile Drupal UI/UX Designer to join our team. This hybrid role combines user-centered design expertise with advanced Drupal development capabilities. You will be responsible for designing intuitive, accessible interfaces and building responsive, high-performing digital experiences using Drupal. The ideal candidate will be proficient in WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and have a demonstrated ability to train and mentor others in Drupal theming, site building, and administration
You will work closely with agency stakeholders, IT developers, and project managers to translate ideas into functional, engaging web solutions that meet both user needs and business objectives. Responsibilities: Collaborate with agency stakeholders to understand project requirements, user needs, and business goals. 7+ years of experience in product design or UI/UX design, with 3+ years focused on design systems at scale. Deep knowledge of Figma features such as variables, component properties, auto layout, and file organization best practices. Lead and execute content migration strategies, including bulk content transfer, taxonomy configuration, and metadata management. Collaborate with engineering teams to expand and refine the shared codebase, ensuring parity between design tokens, components, and front-end implementation (HTML, CSS, Design tokens). Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to visualize and iterate on design concepts. Administer and support the Drupal Developer in configuring configure Drupal site elements such as content types, views, menus, blocks, roles, and permissions. Conduct usability testing, user research, and feedback sessions to inform and validate design and content decisions. Ensure all designs and implementations comply with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, including support for assistive technologies. Optimize web performance and ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
Provide hands-on training and documentation to support internal team capacity in Drupal site building, theming, and content management. Facilitate ongoing knowledge transfer and mentor team members in Drupal best practices. Stay current on UI/UX trends, Drupal advancements, accessibility guidelines, and related web technologies. Preferred Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in UI/UX design and front-end web development. 5+ years of hands-on experience with Drupal 9 or higher, including theming, site building, design and administration. Demonstrated expertise in WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, including testing and remediation. Experience with Drupal content migration, taxonomy design, and configuration management. Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Foundation) and JavaScript libraries (e.g., React, jQuery). Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services integration. Deep proficiency with prototyping and design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop). Ability to clearly document and communicate design decisions, and training materials. Proven track record of mentoring or training others in Drupal theming and platform management. Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams. Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field or equivalent work experience
