Job Description
As a Radar Systems Engineer, you will join an innovative team developing next-generation phased-array radar systems. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge radar technology including GaN AESA systems, digital beamforming, and high-resolution imaging radars that serve critical applications in aerospace, defense, autonomous vehicles, and weather monitoring.
Your responsibilities span system design and development, signal processing and algorithms, hardware integration, testing and validation, and cross-functional collaboration.
The ideal candidate brings 3-7 years of radar systems engineering experience with strong understanding of radar principles, signal processing, and antenna theory, along with experience in phased-array radar design and AESA technology.

Duties and Responsibilities
System Design & Development
- Design and develop high-resolution phased-array radar systems with GaN AESA front-end technology.
- Work on digital beam-forming algorithms and signal processing architectures.
- Contribute to development of multi-mission radar systems operating in C-band and mmW frequency ranges (76-81GHz).
- Design and optimize transmit/receive (T/R) modules for AESA arrays.
- Develop scalable radar architectures that support networkable configurations.
- Develop and implement advanced radar signal processing algorithms.
- Work on digital pulse compression correlators for long-range, high-resolution operation.
- Design interference-resistant signal processing techniques.
- Implement arbitrary waveform generation and processing capabilities.
- Contribute to LIDAR-like point cloud data processing and target imaging algorithms.
Hardware Integration
- Integrate GaN-based power amplifiers and T/R modules into AESA systems.
- Work with supercomputing backend systems for real-time signal processing.
- Design and test antenna systems with 1x1° narrow electronically-steered pencil-beam capability.
- Support multi-GSPS signal sampling system development.
- Collaborate on thermal management solutions for high-power GaN systems.
- Conduct system-level testing and performance validation.
- Develop test procedures for radar range, resolution, and sensitivity measurements.
- Support field testing and customer demonstrations.
- Analyze radar performance data and optimize system parameters.
- Work closely with RF engineers, software developers, and systems architects.
- Support customer technical requirements analysis and system specifications.
- Contribute to proposal development and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams on production readiness.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in radar systems engineering or related RF/microwave systems.
- Experience with phased-array radar design and AESA technology.
- Strong understanding of radar principles, signal processing, and antenna theory.
- Experience with GaN technology and high-power RF amplifier design.
- Proficiency in digital signal processing (DSP) and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Knowledge of beamforming algorithms and adaptive array processing.
- Experience with high-frequency circuit design (C-band, mmW frequencies).
- Familiarity with FPGA programming and real-time signal processing.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or C++ for algorithm development.
- Experience with RF simulation tools (CST, HFSS, ADS).
- Knowledge of radar modeling and simulation software.
- Experience with version control systems and collaborative development tools.
Nice-to-Haves
- Advanced degree (M.S./Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering with focus on radar systems.
- Experience with automotive radar or counter-drone applications.
- Knowledge of machine learning applications in radar signal processing.
- Familiarity with digital beamforming and adaptive nulling techniques.
- Experience with multi-static radar systems and distributed architectures.
- Background in weather radar or wind profiling applications.
- Knowledge of radar cross-section (RCS) analysis and target detection algorithms.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field required.
- Advanced degree (M.S./Ph.D.) preferred.
