Roles and Resposnibilities:
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Performance Test Engineer to join our Healthcare IT team. This role is critical to ensure the scalability, stability, and performance of healthcare applications, including EHR/EMR systems, claims processing, hospital management systems, and health data exchanges (HL7, FHIR, EDI transactions). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in performance testing, load testing, and application monitoring within the healthcare domain.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Performance Testing Execution:
Design, develop, and execute performance tests (load, stress, scalability, and endurance) for healthcare applications.
Assess system behavior and performance for healthcare platforms, claims processing systems, and data exchanges (HL7, FHIR).
Simulate real-world healthcare workloads and transactions (e.g., 837/835 claims, 270/271 eligibility, 276/277 claim status).
2. Performance Monitoring & Analysis:
Monitor system performance during test execution using tools like Neoload, Dynatrace, New Relic, or AppDynamics.
Analyze system metrics (e.g., CPU, memory, response time, throughput) to identify bottlenecks, resource issues, and potential failure points.
Create performance baselines and identify regression in system performance across releases.
3. Test Planning & Strategy:
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and architects to define performance testing strategies, objectives, and success criteria.
Develop detailed test plans, test scenarios, and use cases aligned with healthcare-specific performance benchmarks.
Determine test environments and configure necessary healthcare systems for testing (e.g., integration with third-party EDI platforms).
4. Collaboration & Reporting:
Work closely with development teams to provide feedback on system performance and offer recommendations for improvements.
Provide detailed performance reports and recommendations for optimizing healthcare applications.
Document performance test results, track defects, and work with teams to resolve issues identified during testing.
5. Healthcare Compliance & Standards:
Ensure that performance testing complies with HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, and CMS regulations.
Validate that performance does not affect Protected Health Information (PHI) or system uptime during peak traffic.
Ensure that healthcare applications meet industry standards for scalability, load capacity, and performance.
Required Skills & Experience:
3-5+ years of hands-on experience in performance testing for healthcare applications (claims systems, interoperability).
Strong proficiency with performance testing tools ( NeoLoad, Gatling).
In-depth knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, X12, 837/835 claims).
Experience with healthcare cloud systems (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, New Relic, AppDynamics).
Expertise in performance test scripting, load testing methodologies, and bottleneck identification.
Ability to analyze logs, system health metrics, and data from healthcare applications for performance issues.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
