Main Sail is seeking a Systems Engineer for a U.S. Space Force client responsible for developing transformative technologies aimed at the realization of the Spaceport of the Future (SOTF). This project is envisioned to expedite the digital transformation of USSF bi-coastal spaceport operations, augment launch operational efficiency and capacity, and promote standardization, thereby revolutionizing the delivery of launch services.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and document operational requirements and potential digitization methods for legacy systems.
- Map and inventory range assets, creating a digital manifest for improved tracking and maintenance.
- Evaluate sensor eligibility for digitization and conduct trial conversions to refine digitization approaches.
- Implement and test pilot digitization solutions, ensuring integration with operational systems and digital platforms.
- Develop and facilitate user testing processes, assess system functionality and interoperability, and resolve compatibility issues.
- Create comprehensive documentation for digitized asset processes, tools, and system management protocols.
Required skills/qualifications:
- 6 years of related experience and Bachelor s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience in systems digitization, including analysis, design, and implementation of modernization projects.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex systems and identify optimization opportunities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, with experience in documenting technical processes and findings.
Location: Combined remote with 50+ percent travel and on-site at Patrick Air Force Base (FL)
