Job Details
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect with deep expertise in Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and JupyterHub administration. This role requires both architectural vision and hands-on experience to design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and multi-tenant Quant platforms in a hybrid or cloud-native environment.
You will be the subject matter expert (SME) for the Jupyter Notebook ecosystem integrated into OpenShift and will collaborate with DevOps, data science, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust solutions for interactive computing, ML workflows, and data exploration at enterprise scale.
Key Responsibilities:
-OpenShift / Kubernetes Administration
Design and manage highly available OpenShift clusters (on-premises or cloud-managed)
Develop and maintain Kubernetes manifests (Deployments, StatefulSets, PVCs, NetworkPolicies, etc.)
Implement role-based access control (RBAC), service accounts, and admission policies
Monitor cluster health and performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/Loki
-JupyterHub / Jupyter Notebook Expertise
Deploy, configure, and scale JupyterHub for multi-tenant use on Kubernetes/OpenShift
Integrate JupyterHub with enterprise authentication (OAuth, SAML, LDAP)
Manage persistent storage (PVCs) for notebook users with per-team or per-project isolation
Support libraries, kernels, and runtime environments for data science users
-Cloud & Platform Architecture
Design hybrid/cloud-native architectures using RedHatOpenShift, Azure
Architect storage strategies (e.g., CephFS, S3-compatible) for notebooks and datasets
Build CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions,AzureDevops) for deploying platform updates
Implement backup, DR, and compliance frameworks for data science workloads
-Security & Governance
Ensure platform-level security via OpenShift SCCs, secrets management, and encryption
Define and enforce data access boundaries and secure multi-tenancy practices
Audit and monitor activity with integration into SIEM or audit platforms
Required Skills and Experience:
5+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Architecture roles
5+ years hands-on with OpenShift or Kubernetes in production environments
Strong experience administering JupyterHub or Kubeflow Notebooks
Proficient with YAML, Helm, and Operator-based deployments
Experience with cloud platforms ( Azure, or RedHat OpenShift)
Familiarity with storage integration (NFS, Ceph, S3) and dynamic volume provisioning
Solid understanding of RBAC, IAM, and secure networking (TLS, ingress/egress rules)
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge to have with Data Science workflows and user personas
Knowledge of Apache Airflow, Iceberg, or Spark on Kubernetes
Familiarity with Open Data Hub, Kubeflow, or Red Hat AI/ML tooling
Certifications: CKA, Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, or equivalent
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and documentation skills
Ability to lead cross-functional discussions and align teams on architectural decisions
Problem-solving mindset with a focus on platform reliability and scalability
