Overview:
TalentFish is casting a line for an Azure Cloud Architect! This is a remote Direct Hire role open to candidates located near New York City or Washington DC metropolitan areas.
- The Azure Cloud Architect will be responsible to design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable, and resilient Azure-based solutions that align with the firm's compliance, risk, and operational objectives.
- You will partner with cross-functional teams such as Infrastructure, Enterprise Applications, Security, and Compliance, to ensure the firm's Azure environment meets evolving industry and regulatory standards.
What You Bring to the Role (Ideal Experience)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud environments, including 4+ years specifically focused on Azure cloud architecture.
- Deep experience designing and optimizing Azure infrastructure, including networking (VNet, NSG, Azure Firewall), identity and access (Entra ID), compute (VMs, AVD), and storage services (Blob, Disk, Files).
- Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code and automation scripting, with hands-on experience using PowerShell and Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Familiar with Microsoft security and compliance tools, including Microsoft Purview, Intune, and Conditional Access, and knowledgeable in applying the Zero Trust security model.
- Proven experience in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
- Certifications such as:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer
- CISSP or equivalent
What You'll Do (Skills Used in this Position)
- Design and deploy Azure cloud infrastructure using automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.
- Design and enforce strategies for tagging, cost management, identity access management (IAM), and cloud governance.
- Partner with internal teams to support Azure migrations and day-to-day operations.
- Guide security implementations leveraging Azure Policy, Key Vault, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Microsoft Defender for Cloud (Azure Security Center).
- Support incident response, security audits, and cloud risk assessments.
- Drive continuous improvement through the evaluation of new Azure Services and optimization strategies.
- Ensure compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and industry-specific regulations.
Compensation and Employment
This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. The expected salary range for this position is $150,000-$200,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. TalentFish is committed to pay transparency and equal opportunity.
