Job Details
IBM DB2 Database Administrator - Onsite - Chicago IL Location : Chicago, IL Type: Contract Duration: Long Term
Responsibilities:
- Design complex databases, tables, stored procedures, views, triggers, and other database objects.
- Optimize database performance through techniques such as indexing, query optimization, and database design.
Participate in periodic High Availability (HA)/Disaster Recovery (DR) tests of critical systems. - Proactively monitor database performance and capacity of available resources.
- Provide day-to-day support for databases and database applications.
- Upgrade and patch database management systems.
Technical Environment & Skills:
- Database design, build, configuration, implementation, and maintenance.
- Installation, fix pack, and version upgrades.
- Develop data archiving, data purging, data partitioning, data masking, and automated data refresh solutions.
- Database performance and SQL tuning.
- SQL replication.
- Develop and maintain High Availability and Disaster Recovery strategies.
- Support data center switch activities.
- DB2 LUW, Oracle, RHEL, Shell Scripting, ServiceNow, IBM Data Studio, BMC Control-M, Nagios.
